Glaze Swap & Social

Glaze Swap & Social

A casual winter get together for all levels of potters in Squamish. A perfect opportunity to connect with fellow potters and perhaps some new ones. And it is free!

We will have a table out to offer an optional glaze swap. Do you have made or commercial glazes that you are not interested in anymore? This is a perfect opportunity to pass it on to someone else. If you have nothing to swap. No problem, feel free to just take some new glazes home.

In addition, we will have Sea-to-Sky Pottery Guild's Education co-chair, Kay Austen give a quick demo of applying terra sigillata to your pots, benefits and how to use it. Kay will also be distributing samples for those who wish to try it for the upcoming Raku firing event in April. The guild will also be there with Square to start or renew memberships.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the Cloudburst Cafe at 1861 Mamquam Rd, Squamish, BC V8B 0H5. *Locavore will be open for food and drinks.

Creating Sun Masks: A Ceramics Workshop by CLAYTIVITY

CLAYTIVITY is excited to offer a ceramics workshop focused on the creation of sun masks. Ceramic sun masks have a rich history that spans multiple cultures and centuries. These masks are often associated with the sun deity, a powerful symbol in many ancient civilizations. The sun, representing life, energy, and renewal, has inspired artists to create masks that capture its essence. This hands-on workshop is designed for individuals of all levels of experience interested in learning the basics of ceramics or simply looking for an enjoyable experience with clay. Participants will have the opportunity to design and sculpt their sun masks under the guidance of an experienced instructor, Rosemary Slater.

After the workshop, Rosemary will take your sun mask creations to be fired into bisque. These can then be finished at home with acrylics or other paints.
