Creating Sun Masks: A Ceramics Workshop by CLAYTIVITY

CLAYTIVITY is excited to offer a ceramics workshop focused on the creation of sun masks. Ceramic sun masks have a rich history that spans multiple cultures and centuries. These masks are often associated with the sun deity, a powerful symbol in many ancient civilizations. The sun, representing life, energy, and renewal, has inspired artists to create masks that capture its essence. This hands-on workshop is designed for individuals of all levels of experience interested in learning the basics of ceramics or simply looking for an enjoyable experience with clay. Participants will have the opportunity to design and sculpt their sun masks under the guidance of an experienced instructor, Rosemary Slater.

After the workshop, Rosemary will take your sun mask creations to be fired into bisque. These can then be finished at home with acrylics or other paints.
